The teacher, Shaobeny Johnson, is accused of bringing a firearm to school Saturday. It is illegal in Texas to have a weapon on school property.Students and staff on campus at the time were reported safe, according to Houston Independent School District officials. Another teacher saw the weapon in Johnson's bag, court records show. Johnson was reported and campus security officers secured the weapon without incident, district officials said.
She has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of further investigation. Police and district officials are continuing to look into it.
