Jessica Mccabe is helping to provide resources and information on ADHD to a society whose user’s manual was constructed for neurotypical brains.

“I didn’t know how to do anything but apologize a lot and try harder,” explains Jessica McCabe of living with ADHD. So, in 2016, the actor, writer, and activist began creating content across social media aimed at providing those who share her diagnosis a toolbox of techniques to accommodate their neurodifferences.

Today, “How to ADHD” has over 1 million subscribers on YouTube and a thriving online community.McCabe is even penning a book based on her experiences. And it isn’t only her followers who have benefited from her work. Six years after launching her brand, she says, “I am able to appreciate myself for my strengths and uniqueness in away I couldn’t before.”This article originally appeared in the Fall 2022 print edition of BUST Magazine.
