The team is reuniting with Tyre Phillips, who started
Giants quarterback Davis Webb and offensive tackle Tyre Phillips walk off the field after a 22-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last season. The Giants signed Phllips off the Eagles' practice squad Tuesday.“It’s frustrating, but it comes with football,” Thomas said. “People have injuries. I’m just trying to keep a positive mindset. Being down on myself is not going to make it heal any faster, so I try to have a positive approach and do everything I can to get back.
Phillips, signed by the Giants just before the start of last season after being released by the Baltimore Ravens, started four games at right tackle last season when Evan Neal was out with a knee injury. He also started the final game of the season at left tackle against the Eagles when the Giants sat their starters.
Miles, a seventh-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019, has played just 23 offensive snaps in his career. He was on the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad this season., a third-round pick in the 2022 draft, started the last five games at left tackle, but he left in the first quarter Sunday against the Buffalo Bills with a toe injury. Matt Peart, a reserve offensive tackle, was out Sunday with a shoulder injury.
Now, the Giants have some reinforcements and Sunday against the Washington Commanders they are also likely to have their seventh different starting offensive line combination in as many games.
