Josh Hutcherson provides an update on Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and says the sequel will be scarier than the first movie was.
was released in United States theaters in October 2023. The film, directed by Emma Tammi, stars Hutcherson as Mike Schmidt, while Piper Rubio plays Mike’s sister Abby and Elizabeth Lail plays a police officer named Vanessa.
A sequel was confirmed to be in development following Five Nights at Freddy’s massive box office success. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 will now begin filming in approximately three weeks in New Orleans.“It’s much bigger; the stakes are higher,” he said. “There’s more animatronics being brought in, different animatronics being brought in, and the world just opens up in a big way.
When asked about potentially returning to the franchise if Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is a success, Hutcherson said, “You never know.” He continued, “I mean, I love working in this world. Emma Tammi, our director, is phenomenal, and with my character, Mike, I think the possibilities are endless. This could have a very potentially long run and it could be a lot of fun, but at this point, we’re focusing on the second movie.
