Video of Fetterman’s visit to the country was shared on X in which Netanyahu argued that Israel has had “no better friend” than the“Senator, welcome to Israel,” Netanyahu said, shaking Fetterman’s hand. “I want to thank you for your courageous statements that show moral clarity and moral courage, and you just say it the way it is. And we appreciate this friendship at all times but especially in these times. So welcome, friend, welcome.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with US Senator John Fetterman, and thanked him for his visit and his consistent support of Israel. The PM told the Senator that his standing up to pro-Palestinian demonstrators, while waving an Israeli flag, was courageous and heart-warming.Fetterman also briefly spoke during the video, reiterating his support for Israel and expressing sorrow for the country amid the war in Gaza.
The Pennsylvania senator has made his support for Israel no secret since the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, partaking inin Washington, D.C., in November. Fetterman also received pro-Palestinian protesters outside his home in Braddock, Pennsylvania, in January, with Fetterman responding by going to his rooftop and, many of which occurred toward the end of the spring 2024 semester across campuses nationwide.
