Brett Gray and Ella Purnell are back to lead the second half of Star Trek: Prodigy season 1 as Captain Dal R'El and Gwyndala. Star Trek: Prodigy aired its first 10 episodes of season 1 in 2021 and early 2022, and the acclaimed Paramount+ animated series returns with the next 10 episodes on October 27th.
After some technical difficulties where the actors joked about writing a song called "John from Screen Rant," Screen Rant had a blast interviewing Ella Purnell and Brett Gray about what they're excited for the fans to see in the second half of Prodigy season 1, and their ideas for a dream Star Trek: Prodigy crossover.
Ella Purnell: I think that'd be fine. I wouldn't want to risk it. Starfleet's pretty cool, though. It's a hard question. Brett, what would you do? Ella Purnell: Yes and yes to both questions. The prosthetics I've been thinking about in the past hour, and I think it would take a long time and I don't love that. But if we could, I don't know... I mean, animatronics are great these days. Maybe I could still get paid for the likeness of my character [if] it's a robot. Maybe we get Elon Musk on board.
