The school district plans to commemorate its five decades throughout the academic year.
Barrington School District 220 is turning 50 this school year and officials continue to look back on the strides – and hiccups – the district has made since three districts combined into the one existing today. Also, celebratory events are planned throughout the school year.
” SD220 now enrolls more than 8,000 students across eight elementary and two middle schools, the pre-K Early Learning Center and the lone high school. There is also a transition program. The district now spans 72 miles and students hail from Barrington, Barrington Hills, Carpentersville, Deer Park, Fox River Grove, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, Port Barrington, South Barrington and Tower Lakes.
