At least eight more characters from the iconic fighting game franchise are slated to appear in Mortal Kombat 2. The video game franchise is full of unique, violent, supernatural, and amusing characters, who all fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament to defend the home realm; The 2021 video game adaptation featured moret than a handful of classic Mortal Kombat heroes, along with the original character written for the movie, Cole Young.

Johnny Cage was introduced in the very first Mortal Kombat game, and more than any other Mortal Kombat character, he embodies the tongue-in-cheek humor that the franchise has become known for. The blonde-haired fighter is a hilariously obnoxious and arrogant Hollywood movie star, and his most famous Mortal Kombat rivalries are with Shang Tsung and Goro.

6 Baraka Baraka will feature in Mortal Kombat 2 in some capacity, but the actor playing Baraka still remains undisclosed. Baraka is part of the Tarkatan race and has razor-sharp blades on his forearm. With an unwavering allegiance to Shao Kahn, Baraka was a servant of the Outworld ruler, and he also has a close relationship with Mileena, Shao Kahn's daughter, who was killed by Sonya in the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie. With that in mind, Baraka could be looking for revenge.

4 Jade Jade will be brought to life by Tati Gabrielle in Mortal Kombat 2. Jade is a close ally of Kitana's in the Mortal Kombat games, and she first appeared in Mortal Kombat II. Jade's introduction in Mortal Kombat II wasn't all that eventful, as she was simply a secret unlockable character, but she has since become a fan-favorite.
