The next generation SUV looks like a larger version of the upcoming BMW iX3, with the signature greenhouse and proportions of the current X5
BMW is developing the fifth-generation X5 alongside the new fully-electric iX5. The new models adopt styling cues from the Vision Neue Klasse X concept. Both versions of the luxury SUV are expected to launch in 2026. BMW might be close to unveiling the production versions of the 3-Series and X3 Vision Neue Klasse concepts, but other new models are also on the horizon.
Other intriguing features include flush door handles and a rear spoiler reminiscent of the XM. Our spy photographers captured two variations of the X5/iX5 undergoing testing. The first, boasting larger brake rotors and fiery red calipers, hints at a potential performance variant. Meanwhile, the second prototype rolls on imposing 22-inch wheels, suggesting a focus on either luxury or off-road capability.
