Due in court on Monday
Michael Lewis Blofeld died after being struck by a Kia Picanto travelling on North Park Drive on April 28 this year. Michael, who was known to many as Pickle, was rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but sadly could not be saved.
A police investigation was launched with the force asking anyone with information to come forward. Eileen Foey, of Kay Brown, Ramsbottom, has since been arrested and charged with caused Michael's death by careless driving.The pensioner will go before Blackpool Magistrates Court for a first hearing on Monday afternoon . Court listings prepared for the hearing allege that she caused his death by driving the a Picanto "without due care and attention".
In a statement released after his death, Michael's family said: “Michael was a very much-loved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. His death will leave a huge hole in our hearts and we will always remember him for his cheeky laugh, humour and his heart of gold.”
