The Scottish golfer was visibly over come by the whole moment as he putted the ball home from close-range to spark a loud cheer from the crowd before embracing his dad. The duo shared a few words on the green as he let the moment sink in before he was joined by his girlfriend who was clearly delighted for the 27-year-old. The win is a first PGA tour title for the Scot, who took a four strokes advantage into the final round at Hamilton Golf and Country club.
Reacting to his maiden success, MacIntyre said: “Goose bumps. It’s incredible. It’s a dream of mine to play golf for a living. It’s been a dream of mine to win on the PGA Tour. … I just can’t believe I done it with my dad on the bag. The guy’s taught me the way I play golf.” He continued: “I was in a dog fight there. Obviously, Ben made it difficult coming in the stretch. He played well. It’s just incredible to do this with my dad on the bag and have my girlfriend here and I’m sure there’s a party going on back home in Oban.”
