Ex-lawyer Robert Costello returns to the stand as a defence witness - and could be the final witness of the trial. Yesterday, Mr Costello clashed with the judge overseeing the trial, who said he would not tolerate the witness 'giving me side-eye'.

This one is another one from Robert Costello to his law partner Jeff Citron in which he writes:"What should I say to this a*****e? He is playing with the most powerful man on the planet."Mr Costello denies this.

Prosecutor Susan Hoffinger says:"You sent this with the goal of getting Michael Cohen to follow instructions?" Mr Costello explains he was"telling him to express his complaints" so he could take them to Rudy Giuliani. But Mr Costello replies:"No, do you want me to explain? The lawyer moves on to an email from Robert Costello to Michael Cohen.

Lawyer Bob Costello returns to the stand after he was severely admonished by Judge Juan Merchan yesterday. He said, however, whatever the outcome, good or bad, Trump will be delighted with the worldwide attention. With the prosecution having rested its case, it's the defence's turn to bring witnesses to the stand. The move is seen as risky - given that it would open him up to cross-examination under oath.
