Whether its a spot on the Michelin guide or being named among the best in the UK, the pub seems faultless from the outside
We like to keep our beer-drinking nature enthusiasts well-informed on the best places across the Peak District to eat, drink and relax - but there's one particular spot that seems to be wiggling its way into any headline possible. In 2024 alone, The Pack Horse in Hayfield has either won or been shortlisted for three awards, a result of its strong offerings as both a fancy restaurant and a traditional country pub.
Now, they have another accolade to proudly display in what is surely a fairly large trophy cabinet. The pub has once again been named on Estrella Damm's Top 50 Gastropubs list ahead of an awards ceremony in January, joining 49 like-minded eateries renowned for their high-quality service. “Good luck to all on the list when we reveal our winners and the positions for every pub. You should all be proud as you’re hitting the right notes with your offers and that’s being recognised across the sector.”
She said: "A gateway to the Peak District and a gateway to top-tier gastronomy, there’s good reason The Pack Horse was named one of the top 50 gastropubs in the UK last year, appears on the Michelin Inspectors list of recommendations, and is namechecked by The Good Food Guide and Harden’s respective lists too.
