A cold start today with increasing cloud to the south and some gusty winds around the coasts. Brighter to the north with sunny spells for many and widely staying dry. However, Storm Babet arriving later in the week with widespread heavy rainfall expected.
A four-day weather warning has already been issued by the Met Office Britain is bracing for Storm Babet – the second storm of the season – with fears a red ‘danger to life’ warning could be issued. Storm Babet is expected to bring torrential rain, high winds and flooding to most of the country for the rest of the week.
