Mr Ghafoori said the family are only offered “inedible” food and given €140 per month “pocket money” which does not last long.In October, they were transferred to a reception centre without Wi-Fi, where meals arrive in trays because there is no kitchen. The bathroom at their tiny flat is full of mould, said Mr Ghafoori.The shock of the move from Afghanistan to Spain almost had tragic consequences.
“But unfortunately, we were transferred again for the third time to a village very far from Madrid and in this flat we have only one room with two twin beds.”
