Gaucho will occupy the former Bank of Liverpool building

Gaucho has branches in cities across the UK, including London, Manchester and Leeds. The steak restaurant serves up food with a contemporary global influence, most notably based around modern Argentina.

The new restaurant will be located in the heart of the city, occupying the former Bank of Liverpool building. Extensive work is currently underway to bring the historic building back to life. The arrival of Gaucho to the city will also create 100 new jobs. The building has had a seven-figure investment and, once complete, will sit 200 diners.

Guests will be greeted by two large bronze tiger's heads on the main doors of the building. The restaurant will boast grand high ceilings, original timber panelling and an original marble fireplace featuring a carved Liver Bird. Gaucho will also be exclusively serving carbon-neutral beef, embodying CEO Martin Williams' vision for the way that restaurants should operate responsibly both socially and environmentally. The à la carte menu will be overseen by culinary director Mike Reid and will feature contemporary Latin American starters such as empanadas.

An array of steaks will be available for diners to choose from. Other main courses on Gaucho's extensive menu will include the vegan pasta alla norma and whole grilled sea bass.
