Verstappen was in a foul mood throughout the Hungarian Grand Prix and was in no mood to pacify his critics after the race
The Dutch racer is known for not caring much about public opinion, yet his persistent grumbles during the race in Budapest began to irk even some members of his own Red Bull team. Verstappen spent a good part of the race vocally expressing his frustrations. Initially, he ranted about being told to let Lando Norris ahead after an early incident that sent him off the track.
His car's performance was another source of annoyance as he bemoaned: "I can't brake and I can't enter corners." Clearly dissatisfied with the RB20's balance, Verstappen still had the speed to clinch third place, if not for a later clash with Lewis Hamilton. Although Verstappen struggled to overtake the first time, he seemed to have the speed needed as he closed in on the Mercedes with seven laps remaining. However, a lock-up at turn one led to a collision that sent his Red Bull soaring before it slammed back onto the circuit.
