star Brenda Edwards has opened up about being the survivor of domestic abuse, becoming emotional as she recalled her experiences.
Speaking on the ITV show today, the star felt compelled to speak out after interviewing EastEnders actorShe explained that she was already in love with her ex-partner when the physical abuse started.‘[…] I found myself asking “What have I done to deserve this?” I literally found myself talking to myself. That’s a sign you’re not in yourself.’Detailing one incident of physical assault over an argument about an apple pie, mum-of-two Brenda said: ‘He started strangling me.
‘[…] While he was threatening to do something with the knife I had my phone and was texting my girlfriend. She called the police and the police came.’
