Suspected gunman Robert Card remains on the run after 18 people were shot dead at a bowling alley and bar in Maine on Wednesday night. Heavily armed police have surrounded the home of the suspect's relatives and, earlier, urged the public to provide any information they have.
A 76-year-old volunteer coach of a youth bowling league team has been confirmed as one of the victims in the mass shooting. Bob Violette, was with the youth league while they were practising at the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley at the time of the incident.His daughter confirmed his death to CBS news outlet, WBZ-TV.
A father, whose son was a member of the youth bowling league for three years, described Mr Violette as 'unfailingly approachable and caring'. 'He’s taught so many people over the years how to bowl, and he wasn’t getting paid,' Patrick Poulin said. 'We’ve really been focused on trying to keep the sport alive, and Bob was really an integral part of that.'Another victim has been confirmed as Tracey Asselin. Her mother said she was also killed at the bowling alley.
