She said she is at 'the end of her tether'
A Nottingham mum says she is at the "end of her tether" as mould remains in her St Ann's maisonette around six months after she first complained about it. Laura Harding, 38, says she fears for the health of her two-year-old daughter if the issue is not rectified soon.
With Ms Harding suffering from asthma and her daughter having had recurrent chest infections, she says it should not be taking this long for the issue to be resolved. Nottingham City Council says the delay is partly due to the fact that the leak causing the damp and mould is coming from a privately-owned flat above Ms Harding, with this issue having caused delays for other Nottingham Homes tenants in the past.
Ms Harding says when she contacted the council about the mould in March, she was initially offered an appointment in July. This appointment was eventually cancelled and the first visit came on August 9, when somebody came to strip the affected wallpaper. She said: "I was told that if the leak is still going on then my wall will get wetter, but it hasn't. You can see the water stain showing how far the leak went, and it's not gone any further."
