TV detective Mark Williams-Thomas has spoken to 'Johnny Vegas' Ayub Qassim about what happened at the Airbnb
TV detective Mark Williams-Thomas has quizzed a man who was at the Airbnb where Jay Slater went to moments before he vanished.
It has now been revealed that Ayub Qassim, 31, who was jailed nine years ago for masterminding a scheme to flood Wales with Class A drugs, is the elusive 'Johnny Vegas' who drove the missing teenager to the isolated holiday rental, reports Bristol Live. Jay, with his trainers laced up, casually mentioned the woman's tip about a frequent bus service, saying "every ten minutes". Qassim responded, "Mate, just chill out I'll drop you off in town when I wake up properly." Mr Williams-Thomas also noted that later, Qassim received a distressing call from one of Jay's mates, claiming Jay had ended up in a ditch, having had an unfortunate encounter with a cactus.
He also recounted offering Jay a "blanket to sleep in" and emphasized that there was no altercation between them.
