People have previously queued for 18 hours to get their hands on Popeyes viral chicken sandwich
When Popeyes was founded in New Orleans in 1972, its owner Al Copeland could surely not have foreseen just how big his fried chicken concept would become.
So, it's fair to say that Copeland's dream of simply serving the best fried chicken has come true - and some even claim it's better than KFC. Now, a couple of years after the launch of it's first UK store, it's preparing to open the doors to its first Manchester site. A large TV screen over on the far wall plays a Mardi Gras celebration loop, nodding to the brand's roots and feel good vibes, will a lit up neon sign simply asks diners - 'Ya'll ready for this'? If you are, well then its menu of sandwiches, signature Louisiana chicken, hot wings and premium sides awaits.
Sandwiches, starting from £5.99 can be assembled with pickles, Louisiana smoked American cheese, BBQ sauce and mayo, amongst other toppings and are all served on a toasted brioche. Meanwhile, the tenders go down a treat with Popeyes vast array of sauces , ranging from mango habanero and Louisiana hot sauce, to Mardi Gras mustard, hot honey and buffalo, amongst many others.
They'll also be doing sweet treats like cinnamon sugar biscuits, alongside their hand spun shakes in flavours spanning classics like vanilla and strawberry to Oreo and Lotus Biscoff.
