Duncan, who featured in the BBC One soap back in the late eighties, was the curate of the local church where Sharon often sought solace, determined to escape her turbulent life over at The Vic as Den and Angie’s marriage fell apart.
With Duncan proving to be a supportive shoulder, Sharon soon developed feelings for the reverend, much to Den’s dismay, with the pair subsequently becoming engaged to be married – that is, until Sharon called off the wedding when Duncan was offered a new job at a parish in Wiltshire., and he’s left stunned when he arrives in The Vic to realise that former flame, Sharon, is the young boy’s mother.
‘The only people I knew were my old mates Letitia [Dean] and Gillian [Taylforth] but I was made to feel instantly at home by such a wonderful cast and great crew – lots of new friends. Fabulous!’ Duncan first appeared in EastEnders back in 1987, and would feature in almost 50 episodes of the BBC One soap over a two-year period
