Serial killer Rodney Alcala was handed the death penalty three times and once appeared on The Dating Game but one of his survivors faced him in court decades after being attacked
New Netflix film Woman of the Hour delves into the harrowing crimes of Rodney Alcala, infamously dubbed the Dating Game Killer.
In a chilling account from September 1968, Tali Shapiro, just eight years old at the time, was on her way to school from the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles where she was temporarily residing with her family. He followed them to Alcala's apartment and promptly called the police. When the officers arrived, they discovered Shapiro in a critical state, lying in a pool of blood.
Alcala's infamous appearance on The Dating Game occurred roughly four years after his release, and he continued his spree, committing at least eight more rapes and murders across California, New York, and Wyoming.
