There are flood warnings in place across nearly 40 areas in Nottinghamshire as the county recovers from Storm Babet. Thirty-eight flood warnings remain in place on Monday, October 23.
A major incident was announced around Retford on Sunday, October 22, prompting hundreds of house evacuations. It came after Storm Babet bombarded Nottinghamshire and the rest of the UK throughout the week. The severe flooding warning for Retford was downgraded yesterday evening, but Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service advised residents to maintain "high levels of vigilance" and continue to check flood alerts for the area. Nottinghamshire is now expected to face more rain throughout most of Tuesday, October 24.Twenty flood alerts have also been issued by the government for Nottinghamshire.
