Family of headteacher who took her own life after Ofsted inspection call for schools to boycott education watchdog
The family of a primary school headteacher who took her own life after an Ofsted inspection have criticised the watchdog's "unfair" and "sensationalist" report.
"We are in no doubt that Ruth's death was a direct result of the pressure put on her by the process and outcome of an Ofsted inspection at her school," she said. "This is a vital part of ensuring the best educational environment for children, who are of course everyone's priority, as they were for Ruth."Headteacher 'blocks Ofsted inspection' in protest after head Ruth Perry, 53, took her own life over ‘inadequate’ rating
Flora Cooper, head of John Rankin School, Newbury said she is ‘taking a stand’ against the inspection process.
