The Glenda Shuttleworth actress used her time away from the ITV soap wisely - and was thanked and praised for doing so
Coronation Street star Jodie Prenger has joked she's after someone else's job as she enjoyed spending her time away from the cobbles with some very adorable friends. It may be no secret to fans of the actress that she is a huge animal lover.
But earlier this year, Jodie added another dog to her family and used the opportunity to pay her own tribute to the late Paul O'Grady who sadly died around the same time. The soap star told her online followers in March that she had adopted a rescue dog and that after a call to the rescue centre, she'd decided to rename the dog in honour of the much-loved all-round entertainer.
Back to now though and during a recent break from filming on the famous cobbles, Jodie decided to spend her time wisely and paid a trip to a dogs home where she got up close to the little rescue pups. Beaming for a snap with Birmingham Dogs Home's staff as they held on to some of the residents, Jodie said: "I would take a thousand hats off to all at @birmingham_dogs_home their love and dedication in rehoming these beautiful dogs is second to none.
They wrote: "Can't thank you enough for spending your free time coming down and spending time with us and our team. You have given our puppies some much needed socialising and also given a huge boost to our team when they needed it most. You are always welcome and it was a real pleasure having you with us!"
