A chilling interactive map shows the effects of the climate crisis on rising sea levels - and reveals that parts of Scotland could be submerged within the next 80 years.
The effects on the area around Grangemouth look to be particularly frightening, with much of the town—including the Grangemouth Sports Stadium—projected to be below the annual flood level by 2100. Even The Kelpies, the 30-metre-high sculptures between Grangemouth and Falkirk, are set to be partially submerged.
Looking at St Andrews, many of the golf courses for which it is world-famous will be underwater according to the map. This includes the Old Course, where the 150th Open Championship was held. The 'sweeping cuts now' setting shows the effects of global warming of about 1.5° Celsius above pre-industrial temperatures—the most ambitious target of the Paris Agreement—while the 'current trajectory' option displays the results of a temperature rise of 4.4° Celsius.
Done well this week with the lies DR First you blamed Russia for bombing Poland Now this nonsense
Lind of pointless anyway. How long do you think it will take to reverse climate change. Not in this century is probably nearer the mark and if it is man made or just another climate cycle as some experts have said. World population explosion is the cause anyway
Ah.....we are now doing 80 years projections....probably because the 10-20 year ones from the 80s look plretty stupid now
