A BBC presenter was forced to apologise to viewers over an awkward blunder during Saturday morning's BBC Breakfast show, September 23. An old episode of Newswatch from 2017 was played but was pulled after just three minutes, as Huw Edwards appeared.
However, this morning Huw was seen on BBC One fronting a report about Hurricane Maria before the clip cut back to presenter Ben Thompson in the Breakfast studio. Another commented: "Oh god how awkward - cut it off just as Huw came on." While a third teased: "BBC loves a repeat, doesn't it!" An internal investigation over suspended News at Ten presenter Huw is currently underway at the BBC.
Speaking at a House of Lords communications committee in July, Davie said: “This has been a difficult affair where we have tried to calmly and reasonably navigate some difficult concerns around the allegations themselves, duty of care, privacy and legitimate public interest."
