'We had to stay at home the next day as she had a concussion and was feeling sick and dizzy'
A 16 year old girl was attacked and left with a concussion after an unprovoked assault on her way home from college. The teenager had boarded the 141 bus at Mansfield station on the afternoon of Monday, October 9, as she made her way home to Hucknall from the West Nottinghamshire College in Mansfield.
Her mum, Aimi Bunce, 39, said: "She phoned me pretty much straight after. She knew I would be at work and couldn't pick up the phone so she phoned her brother and he came and got her and then when I finished 20 minutes later I saw the missed calls and messages. "We had to stay at home the next day as she had a concussion and was feeling sick and dizzy." By Wednesday, October 11, the family had still not given a statement, and so Jason drove his daughter to Hucknall Police Station, where they were told an officer would be giving them a call.
"I just really hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else." Stagecoach East Midlands have confirmed that they are aware of the incident and are helping the police with their investigation.
