SPANISH FORK — The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) began construction of a new safety project on Thistle Junction at U.S. 6 and the turnoff to U.S. 89 in Spanish Fork Canyon on Friday morning.
With an expected duration of six months, the project aims to significantly reduce serious crashes in the area by transforming the intersection into a freeway-style underpass. UDOT anticipates increased delays for traffic in and around the construction zone, particularly during peak travel periods, such as weekends and holidays
