The Alabama Stings, a brand-new women's tackle football team, is set to make its debut in Mobile. In a rapid development process spanning less than two months, the team has successfully assembled a roster, fostered chemistry, and is now preparing for their inaugural game against a veteran North Carolina squad. Owner and Head Coach Andrew Thomas expressed surprise at the swift progress, attributing it to divine planning and the players' dedication. The Stings aim to challenge perceptions about women in football and provide inspiration for young girls.

A brand- new team is getting ready to take the field in Mobile — but for the Alabama Stings , this moment has been weeks in the making. In less than two months, the women’s tackle football team has built a roster, developed chemistry, and prepared for its very first game.

Andrew Thomas, Owner and Head Coach, says even he didn’t expect how quickly things would come together. “Something we didn’t expect to do but it wound up happening. God just planned it out for us, and it’s been a blessing they’re working hard, and they’re going to show everybody what they made of.”“It’s been a lot to do in less than 45 days but as a collective organization and our ladies coming in doing the things we asked them to do, it’s been great,” Thomas said. Now, the Stings are preparing for their first matchup where they will be taking on a veteran team from North Carolina. “We got the Carolina Tigers coming to Mobile they’re a veteran team we’re a first-year team, but we’re going to come in and show everybody that we’re here to stay, and we’re here to be a competitive team.”Kirsten “KP,” a player for the Stings, says this moment is about changing perceptions. “Football has been looked down on women for a long time so it’s a time to shine and start saying that we can play so here’s our time to play.” She says representation - especially for young girls - is a big part of what makes this team so important. “It’s important because it starts young just like how the Pee Wee boys start it’s important for little girls to get a chance to grow it as well.”“That we could play don’t count us out that we big dogs, not the little ones.”“Win, lose, or draw I get to play with some great women,” KP said.“Football is a very tough and physical sport so for them to come out here and put their bodies on the line and take on the obstacles and adversity nobody can take that,” Thomas said.“They’re mothers they’re daughters they have families and we love them. They’re not just players to us — we’re all family now.” As the Alabama Stings prepare for their game, they’re also working to make an impact off the field — hosting a youth camp to raise awareness for children with autism and connect with the community.A former Baldwin County school system IT employee arrested in a Florida child sex sting has plead guilty to federal charges, according to newly filed court docuMobile, AL. -New testimony in a preliminary hearing is shedding light on a disturbing connection between a murder suspect and one of the victims—whileFishing access at Big Creek Lake is expected to return under a controlled system that relies on on-site boat rentals and equipment rather than privately launcheA brand-new team is getting ready to take the field in Mobile — but for the Alabama Stings, this moment has been weeks in the making. In less than two months, thUPDATE: He has been found safeORIGINAL ARTICLE:The Foley Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in the search for missing 12-year-old, Rowan Jo
