Coronavirus: Historic US$2.2 trillion Bill passes US House, becomes law The US House of Representatives on Friday approved a US$2.2 trillion aid package – the largest in history – to help cope with the economic downturn inflicted by the intensifying coronavirus pandemic, and President Donald Trump quickly signed it into law.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO director-general, urged countries to refrain from using medicines that have not been demonstrated to be effective against Covid-19, the disease caused by the virus. "It is clear that we have entered a recession" that will be worse than in 2009 following the global financial crisis, she said in an online press briefing.

Cases of contamination of pets are rare and authorities ruled out any risk of contamination to humans from home animals.
