Police officers stand in front of protesters during an International Women's Day protest organised by Poland's Women's Strike in Warsaw, Poland, on Mar 8, 2021. WARSAW: Poles took to the streets on Monday to mark International Women's Day, in demonstrations around the country that took on added significance months after a constitutional court banned almost all abortions.
Previous protests organised by the Women's Strike movement, which opposes the tightening of restrictions regarding abortion, have been marred by violence, with the police criticised for heavy-handed tactics.
Poland is a country in which the majority of voters in the last few elections clearly stood up for the protection of life. The left has been losing another election and is now protesting at every opportunity regardless of the topic.
