LONDON: Dominic Thiem was at his dominant best as he dismantled defending champion Alexander Zverev 7-5 6-3 on Saturday to storm into the final of the season-ending ATP finals.
Zverev, who began this year's tournament in superb fashion by beating Rafael Nadal in a group clash, flung his racket across the court in frustration. Thiem is the first Austrian to reach the final of the ATP's exclusive year-ender in its 50-year history and it will be a fitting end to a superb season which caught fire after hiring former Olympic champion Nicolas Massu as coach.
