An angry outburst by a Melaka restaurateur towards a customer and her relatives — including some who were visiting from Singapore — went viral online recently.

"As a trader, you must be ethical. The customer is king. You must have patience for whatever the customer does," he was quoted by news siteas saying to reporters after a visit to the Lotus supermarket in Tebrau, Johor Bahru on Sunday .

The deputy minister also reportedly said that good ethics and manners were a reflection of the country’s people and culture.
