Activist Panupong 'Mike' Jadnok makes a three-finger salute to protesters after placing a 'People's Plaque' sticker on the main gate of Thailand's parliament during a pro-democracy rally. BANGKOK: Thailand's parliament voted on Thursday to delay making a decision on whether it will amend the constitution, as demanded by anti-government protesters who have demonstrated nearly every day for more than two months.

Protesters say the current constitution was drafted to ensure he kept power after elections last year. Prayut says the vote was fair. The protests are the biggest challenge to the Thai military and palace-dominated establishment since Prayut took power in a 2014 coup. The biggest protest drew tens of thousands of people at the weekend.

The king sits at the apex of Thai power, supported by an arch-royalist military and the kingdom's billionaire clans. The movement - which students claim is leaderless and inspired by Hong Kong's protesters - is also calling for Prayut to resign and for the government to stop"harassment" of political opponents.Ahead of the protest authorities officially began legal complaints against some of the social media platforms used by the young, tech-savvy demonstrators to further their message.
