They"are suspected of violating the regulations and the authorities have decided not to extend ... they are scheduled to leave on July 3," MAC spokesman Chiu Chui-cheng told reporters. "We have reported our activities in Taiwan and work content to relevant departments. We have done that in the past 12 years. We think it's very strange that there were no problems in the past but now there is this kind of situation," she said.
Tensions between the sides have grown since Tsai came to power in 2016, as she has refused to acknowledge Beijing's idea that the self-ruled democratic island is part of"one China".
