WATCH: A vicious yet clumsy fight.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Elizabeth and Goulburn Streets in Sydney's CBD on Wednesday afternoon at about 12.45pm. Onlookers raised the alarm as a bus driver and a reported private van driver wearing a hi-vis vest exchanged blows in a lengthy fight that began on the road and spilled onto the sidewalk.

Upon arrival authorities were told the ugly altercation between the 47-year-old van driver and 53-year-old bus driver was triggered by an alleged road rage incident, NSW Police said in a statement shared with Yahoo News Australia."The 47-year-old fled the scene. The 53-year-old was taken to hospital suffering facial injuries," a police spokesperson said.

Video of the ugly altercation has been published by Nine News. It shows the bus driver throwing kicks and punches at the van driver who continues to advance on him. At one point the van driver is knocked to the ground before getting back up and continuing the fight. As it spilled onto the sidewalk the bus driver could be seen swinging multiple punches towards at the head of the van driver as he was hunched over.

The altercation reportedly blocked two lanes of traffic and was eventually broken up by members of the public.
