SINGAPORE — The Singapore national netball team got their first win at this year’s Netball Nations Cup, after they beat Ireland 51-35 at OCBC Arena on Tuesday (22 October).

After opening the tournament on Sunday with a draw against Namibia and following up with a loss against Botswana, Singapore started strongly to open up a 13-5 first-quarter lead and held firm against the Irish to register the victory.

“We will take the win, and we will be able to have that winning feeling brought into tomorrow’s match , which will be a really important one for us,” she said. In other Nations Cup matches on Tuesday, Botswana beat Papua New Guinea 58-36, and Namibia defeated Cook Islands 61-47.
