Frequency of rostered routine testing for people working in industries such as F&B to be increased from once a fortnight to once a week COVID19

SINGAPORE: Singapore needs to “take quick action” to dampen the increasing likelihood of an"exponential rise" in cases, said the Ministry of Health on Monday .co-chair of the multi-ministry task force, said the transmission rate of COVID-19 has to be slowed down, and Singapore will “attempt to do so” without going into another phase of heightened alert.

“It’s not just the unvaccinated seniors. Because even for vaccinated persons, there will be a small proportion of them falling severely ill, and if you have a very high infection rate ... the small proportion will translate to a sizable number of ICU cases and eventually“So we have to slow down the transmission rate and bring it down. We will attempt to do so without going back to another heightened alert.

“Thus, we need to take quick action now to dampen the increasing likelihood of an exponential increase in cases. This will also buy us time to get more people, in particular seniors, vaccinated as soon as possible, and also to roll out our booster programme to those aged 60 and above.”The frequency of the mandatory fast and easy test rostered routine testing regime will be stepped up from once every two weeks to once a week from Sep 13, said Mr Wong.

It will be extended to more settings with “frequent community interactions”, said MOH in the press release. This includes workers in retail, malls, supermarkets as well as delivery personnel and transport workers, said Mr Wong. Each company will receive eight kits per employee for weekly testing of their staff over a two-month period, said MOH in the press release.

I'm sure the government knows what they are doing, and do the best for its people during a difficult time .

I feel that ever since pfizer decided to bulid a factory here, SG's pandemic fighting strategy and policies have been manipulated to favor the mRNA vac manufacturer.

What a shame, looks like the nation is crumbling down due to this Covid handling by these ministers and the entire MOH.

ownself gong ownself song

Unlinked cases are rising, yet still want to opem the border. 🙄

MOH is in a lost now, they don't really know what to do? Policy changes everyday, citing the reason policy change due to virus. As a Singaporean, I felt ashamed, not only do they don't know how to react, they even created a discrimination between vaccined and non-vaccined. SAD

Bad. Hope the health minister have a plan B or C. At certain numbers, the ICU watch & the death rate is bound to rise. At certain numbers it will also be beyond control.

What a difference a day makes.

Covid-19: 253 new locally transmitted cases in Singapore, including 116 unlinked onesSINGAPORE — Singapore on Saturday (Sept 4) recorded 253 new locally transmitted cases of Covid-19, including 116 that are not linked to earlier infections. Whatever. I feel either way, this is a historic point for all of us in Singapore. Years from now, people will judge this moment we are living in. Unlinked is bad. Out of control is worse. I don't think this virus is going to operate within our definition. ICU watch is next.
