The actor admitted that he is planning to sell his 3-room HDB flat – where he has lived with his girlfriend for 10 years — and downgrade to a 2-room. He will be using the money from the move for his daily maintenance expenses after undergoing amputation.

SINGAPORE: 61-year-old local actor, Duan Weiming, recently lost his left leg last September 2022 due to health complications caused by diabetes. From the sources of 8world, Duan Weiming visited the Tan Tock Seng Hospital last December 5, 2022, to see and try his prosthetic leg. The 61-year-old will be able to live with his prosthetic limb as early as May 2023.

Aside from the good news of acquiring prosthetics, the actor was also given the opportunity to reprise his role in the third season of 128 Circle as Uncle Larry, the coffee stall owner despite her current situation. 128 Circle is Singapore’s first multilingual television drama that follows the story of hawkers in a food centre that is loved by Singaporeans and faces a sudden closure.

Last December 7, 2022, Weiming attended a contract signing ceremony in a wheelchair at the Asia TV Forum & Market with 128 Circle’s executive producer Thean-jeen Lee. The director said that he would revise and edit the script to adapt and accommodate Duan Weiming’s current health status.Send in your scoops to news@theindependent.sg
