The Grey Glacier is one of the main sights in the Torres del Paine national park popular with tourists and hikers. A giant iceberg the size of six football pitches - 8.8 hectares - broke away from the glacier on Feb 20 and another six hectare piece detached on March 7.sentifi.comThe 270 square kilometre glacier receded by 500 metres , more than half the amount lost over the previous decade.
