A new study found that the estimated vaccine effectiveness against documented COVID-19 infection in adolescents was 90%, and 93% against symptomatic COVID-19.

The findings, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, will likely provide further reassurance the shot is effective against the variant among younger people as the U.S. drug watchdog considers authorising use of the vaccine on children as young as five. Israel's Clalit health maintenance organisation and Harvard University researchers reviewed data from 94,354 vaccine recipients aged 12 to 18 who were matched with an identical number of unvaccinated adolescents from the same age group.

In a statement late on Wednesday, Clalit said the study was one of the largest peer-reviewed evaluations conducted among the age group of the effectiveness of the vaccine against the Delta variant.

Covid-19: 'Stabilisation phase' restrictions extended by a month to Nov 21Lets give our thanks to our fellow unvaxx people out there.. I think it just doesn’t make sense! When the whole household are all vaccinated, why do we still need to restrict 2-persons dine-in A blanket restriction is just not realistic! Were we caught by surprise and did not anticipate the current situation to happen? “We understand where the Restaurant Association is coming from.”…for those of us not in the F&B businesses, I don’t think “we understand” because we are not impacted. A statement such as this just not being honest!
