SINGAPORE - All schools will reinforce cyber wellness education from next year to help students cope with the new pressures that arise from the prevalence of social media and smart devices.

He added:"Technology presents children with the influences, choices and decisions previous generations never had to contend with." "They need to be able to say no to bad influences, protect themselves from cyber bullies and predators." Mr Ong said the new CCE curriculum will be progressively implemented in all primary and secondary schools from 2021.

"With these changes, every school experience can be a CCE lesson, and every teacher can be a CCE teacher," said Mr Ong, adding that the goal is to make learning of values more intentional rather than incidental. At the secondary school level, contemporary issues, like bullying, online media, environmental sustainability and race and religion will be discussed in CCE lessons at least once a fortnight.
