In the new title, Phoenix plays “an artist left to take care of his precocious young nephew as they forge an unexpected bond over a cross country trip”.

The first details of Joaquin Phoenix’s next movie have been revealed and it sounds like the Joker star could find himself back in the Oscar race next year.

The untitled picture, tentatively referred to as C’mon C’mon on IMDb, recently wrapped production in New Orleans. According to Deadline, the project will touch on mental illness, as the boy’s father “struggles with bipolar disorder”. Mills was nominated for the Best Original Screenplay Oscar in 2017 for 20th Century Women.British child actor Woody Norman, who recently appeared as Aidan Turner on-screen son in Poldark and in The War of the Worlds, appears to be playing Phoenix’s nephew.
