LONDON - British Olympic gold medal hopefuls Katerina Johnson-Thompson, Adam Peaty and Dina Asher-Smith expressed their relief after Tokyo 2020 was delayed until next year on Tuesday due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Johnson-Thompson is hoping to add to her world championship gold in the heptathlon last year with Olympic gold after missing out on the podium at Rio 2016. Asher-Smith, Britain's world 200m champion, posted on Instagram:"#Tokyo2021, Same fire, new dates. Stay at home and stay safe everyone."
