Of 82 linked local cases, 27 are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster while two are linked to the KTV cluster. The two clusters are now linked to 932 and 247 cases, respectively. Forty-eight local cases are unlinked.
Five new COVID-19 clusters were announced on Wednesday, bringing the total number of active clusters in Singapore to 44. Two new cases were also added to the "Case 64697" cluster, now linked to 75 infections. The cluster is linked to residents at Block 639 Rowell Road of whom two had attended lessons at ComfortDelGro’s Ubi driving school and later tested positive for the virus.
Another 10 cases have also been detected in seven households at Block 430 Clementi Avenue 3, and another three in three households at Block 445A Clementi Avenue 3. Most of these cases are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster, the ministry said, adding that epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
According to the ministry, the number of new cases in the community has increased from 765 in the week before to 915 in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 45 in the week before to 217 in the past week. Among them are also 16 seniors above 60 years, of whom 15 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, who have fallen very ill, it added., 15 others who tested positive for the virus were determined to have died from unrelated causes, including three whose deaths were attributed to a heart attack and another four, whose deaths were attributed to coronary heart disease.
