TOKYO - Japan’s defence ministry said on Thursday North Korea fired what could have been a ballistic missile.

The projectile was said to have been fired towards the Sea of Japan, which is also known as the East Sea. Earlier on Thursday, North Korea’s state news agency KCNA said Pyongyang condemns South Korea’s live fire drills with the United States.
