Almost 300 people were treated last year at hospitals for accidents related to personal mobility devices , with about a sixth of the injuries being severe.
Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan revealed the figures in a written answer to Nominated MP Walter Theseira in Parliament yesterday. He also asked for a comparison of the accident and injury rate of PMDs relative to other forms of transport. About 63 per cent of the injuries in these accidents were minor, 21 per cent were moderate and 16 per cent were severe, said Mr Khaw.
